The #MurdochMysteries Open House 2014! By Aniqa R.
On Saturday July 26th, 2014 I had the great privilege of attending The first-ever Murdoch Mysteries Open House in Scarborough, Toronto. I must say it was a remarkable experience, the guests or the super fans were completely captivated by the film set. I even visited the grisly side of the studio, the City Morgue, which included tons of bone-chilling props. Unfortunately, I did not get to see the stars of the show, however, I met some awesome fans of the Murdoch Mysteries, and these folks travelled from far places like Hamilton to come to Toronto for this event. I want to give a big shout out to the staff(especially Emily A!) and the film crew of Murdoch Mysteries, they are fantastic and I hope they can have a future Open House again so more super fans can come and experience this marvelous opportunity.

The Market by Aniqa R. #DOCINSTITUTE #TheMarket
On Thursday August 14th at the Toronto Reference Library, The DOC Institute presented a free screening of the documentary The Market. I was fortunate enough to attend this screening and was selected as an event photographer to document the prestigious panelist, including director Rama Rau. The film depicts the contentious issue surrounding organ trade and kidney transplantation in India, which is motivated and worsened by situations such as in Canada, where countless numbers of patients are desperately waiting for transplants and are even willing to travel to the East to receive them by whatever means.
I must give credit to Rama Rau (shout out to the rest of the film crew as well) for her outstanding direction of the film, and for introducing such strong personalities/characters on screen. I am also very impressed by the panelists and how they tackled topics like bioethics, and even emphasized the difference between an “organ seller” and an “organ donor.”
I would like to thank Sree N., and the DOC Institute (Adam S. and his team), for giving me this wonderful opportunity.
