If you are an artist who lives or works in St James Town or Cabbagetown, you are invited to join us for a free workshop on how to prepare and submit an application to paint a mural on an outdoor Bell Canada equipment box this summer.
Since 2009 the Bell Box Murals Project has paid artists to paint murals on 48 outdoor equipment boxes throughout Toronto neighbourhoods. This summer 40 more murals will be painted – a different artist for each box. If you are interested in becoming a part of this exciting project, plan on attending this workshop.

This past week, the Spiritus crew spoke about a variety of elements in theatre, like scenes, setting, and character. After a short discussion, theatre workshop leader, Sarah El Raheb, revealed a little trick about getting under the skin of a character: A truly good character comes to life through the unshared elements found in their respective back-stories.
In other words, their secrets! To practice this method, the class was divided into groups of two. Each group selected a “secret” written on a slip of paper to perform in front of their peers. The trick? The actors must perform the secret without explicitly revealing it to the audience! Think you can do it?
